I was impressed with all the Valve Cover pictures that was posted in this thread! I was also kinda envy that you guys have manage your car parts very well. I hope I can do that to my car as well.

Hi Armand, welcome to the forum. If you want a picture of a really crappy valvecover - made from metal , I can post mine! But, I have bought a chrome cover for the staggering sum of $19.50 at kmjent.com, it's unbaffeled but look really nice, heavy chrome, haven't put it on yet.

I the meantime i do just like I imagine you do - daydream and drool over a picture of those expencive but gorgeous Offy valve covers...

Olaf.

Sorry folks, couldn't resist. Just got this 1982 Dodge W150 4WD in dire need of paint a few days ago and with a massive oil leak from the valve cover gasket - the base dark green looks like a green chili, I live in New Mexico, and the red for the valve cover completes the "Red or Green?" all the waitresses ask regarding whether you want red chili or green chili on you food. So, when the head was off I painted it. Manual lifter head and offy valve cover will be installed later during the engine build.

This was the cover I painted about a year and a half ago. It got sacrificed to make a plain cover later. I'll probably paint another one similar if I get bored.

I've sent my Offy valve cover with the added stovepipe off to Leanna at Phoenix Specialty Coatings down in TN. She is going to powder coat just the top of the fins. Ought to look pretty sharp!
And here is the finished product:

She ended up doing the powder coating between the fins.

you'd have to ask Kidd. One of his painter buddies did those.

Been looking for photos of Dave Mueller's valve cover too. He TIG welded his for the Wagon and his current drag car. Beautiful stuff!
