Well Ol Blue doesnt like me today. Was on my way to a VA appointment and it started that stumble thing again. Coughed out the carb real good, kept on going then all of a sudden it was like no fuel. So limped into a driveway to work on it. Verified spark, verified fuel to carb. Squirter works but I think the bbd has something wrong internally. So a trailer is on its way and ill rebuild the carb at home and see what I get out of it. Aggrevates me pretty fierce since I pride myself on driving old school and it ends up stranding me on the highway. Do have a few bbd to make one whole one out of so ill see what can come of this. Hopefully be up and running tomorrow.

We'll turns out it wasn't the carb, it was the coil. It would show spark when testing but what tipped me off was that I'd test spark and the first one was nice bright and hard then the next ones were faint but still sparking. So crash course swapped in an e core coil I have and fired right off. So today I made my drive yet again to Indy VA and done the hearing thing. She says I have hearing loss! I think I could have told her that and saved me a drive.

Ain't that the truth ! Reminds me of a hearing test that I hade to take for my job a while back. Sat in the little sound proof booth and couldn't hear a thing! Nurse says I was deaf in right ear! I said headset not working ,something wrong with equipment, she says NO.....it's fine, your deaf in one ear,I say well if that's the case how come I can hear you talking? She says I must be using the other ear,"have you had hearing issues before?" I said not really unless my girlfriend is nagging me.....she doesnt like that either! its goes on and on,but you get the idea.
I then turn around to see a sign that says to make sure the headset jack is firmly in place,so I push it in,it's working now, I say can I do the test again now? She says that the doc must approve it coz I failed the first test! Thank goodness the doc had some common sense. It was like a monty python show!
If you do another hearing test there is an old trick that may help, wear earplugs and stay away from loud noises for at least 24 hours prior to your test,it won't help if there is severe damage of course, but it will give you a more accurate indication of your hearing state without it being effected by day to day short term losses.
Sorry for the ramble, but more to the actual topic,I love your truck ! We never had these over in Australia,I've been following your rebuild and I really like your work, those cup holders are really something! The dash mods are very well done as well. Good troubleshooting to find that coil fault. Have a great Christmas and good luck with the hearing.

Well it's been a bit but I been lurking and working.

Today at work I took a brand new fuel pump (mech) and proceeded to drill the atmosphere hole out. I then tapped it and installed a 90* elbow that let's me attach 1/8" high pressure line. It will be connected to the carb at so that it can see boost.

Also ordered a specter carb hat for the top of my holley carb. I'll take it to work as well and put in a fitting so that I can connect the fuel pump.

Tomorrow I'll be looking for the fittings to plumb the oil supply side. Also have a lead on cutting the flanges for the J pipe attachments.

This is all for now, I'll get pics when I can so as to show build progress.

More parts ordered:
Carb rebuild kit
T3 flange w mounting tabs
Hx35 gaskets

Took carb to work to apply hanger 18 mods. Took die grinder to choke horn. Bout 3 hrs of sanding and smoothing. Still needs more to be approved by me and my OCD standards.

Found fitting to mate to turbo oil port to allow oil line to be added. Next I have to find the fitting to fit the block where oil sender goes.

Slow but going.

More to follow.

It looks even smaller bc there's no meter plate, choke, choke horn, base plate or fuel bowl.

It's only a 350 holley but I also have a 500 in the garage if needed

Cut hole in oil pan for turbo drain
Made tee for oil supply for turbo and gauge.

Test fit intercooler (insert evil grin here)
Started on an adapter for the offenhauser. Has 4bbl adapter and I need 2bbl so im using 4bbl adapter and mr gasket 1937 adapter to make one. Building it out of micarta.

Since I have the ports on the radiator for a transmission cooler, should I just run my oil line through it and feed the turbo? I figure it will finally be used and keep the oil temp going to the turbo down a little. Any suggestions?
