I've finally begun wiring in an HEI system to my 63 Valiant. What wire gauge should I use to connect my single-pickup electronic distributor (2 wires) to the HEI module? I am thinking 16 gauge? Thank you for your help.

Thicker is better. I would go at least 14, or 12. Don't forget the relay.

Sixteen is fine. There is only a very small amount of current flow. It would not hurt to twist the wires, to help prevent picking up electrical noise.

Thanks for the responses. I have mounted the relay, module, and coil in the car, and just beginning to put them altogether.

The current from a sensor is tiny; 20 gauge would be fine. Below that I'd be more concerned about the mechanical strength of the wires than overloading them.
