I have a Chrysler 225 in a brush chipper. It has a cast crank and head with harden seats. what year or years head will fit this as head is cracked. Is their casting numbers on block and head that will tell the difference. I have found a couple complete engines but don't know what year Thanks

If you are just replacing the head you can bolt on any head from 1962-1987, that being said...if your chipper has mechanical lifters, and your donor has non-adjustable rocker arms, you will have to do some rocker and shaft swapping to get it all to work out right (or vice-versa). If you are dead set on hardened seats, then 1973-1987 will have them...if you have to have the tapered seat plugs, then 1975-1987 will be the limit...

Make sure when you remove the head to check the deck for warping, and issues with the head gasket to make sure you won't have to deck the block and the head, both...
