It looks like it would be a tight fit with PS. I believe Charrlie_S said Clifford shortie headers won't fit without modification on a 225 with PS.
It may be car specific then.
I believe it was for an early A

I think that is only on the early A-bodies? But someone will straighten us out.

There will obviously be some folks worried about power steering and I will find out once mine come off the car whether or not they will work. And if Lou has a K frame & Engine with P/S on it I can get them to him for a fitment check. If he has access to the A/C brackets he can check that too.

Rick, just from working around the engine a lot, it looks the the front sweep might just barely miss the power steering pump depending on the style of pump and how far it's cocked out to tension the belt.... if no power steering, it looks like it will clear the driver's side alternator conversion... They will not work so well with the truck low mount starter bellhousing as the outlets look to want to dump right in the pocket the starter would sit. If they are cast for the narrower flange the stock/mopar manifolds and offy's, anyone with the clifford shorty or unmodded clifford hyperpak manifold will need to take a scrape off the intake flange to even things out for the triangular washers to sit right.

Depending on the timing of the order, put me down for one pair of these...

OK, Clifford shorties, will fit 66 down "A" bodies with a 225 and manual steering.
Will not fit with power steering, without modifying the front section. They hit the top of the steering box.

They will not fit with a 170 engine, manual steering, unless modified.

I haven't tried, but don't think they can be modified enough to fit the 170 with PS. Would need to completely rebuild the front section.

Yeah, I'm with Reed. I'd definitely be interested if we knew this worked with PS and AC on an early A. Eager to see progress. If it does work, I'll definitely be up for a set.

For 64 to 66 "A" body:
I printed the pictures, and went out to my 66 Valiant with a 225 and Clifford shorties. I'm going to go out on a limb, and say I think they will fit with power steering and A/C.

Since the original design was for the 170, I don't see any problem with the fit on a 170 (no p/s or a/c) except for the starter.
But i'm thinking it should work, also, with P/S and A/C. But by the same token, how many early "A"s had power steering and/or air with a 170.

Anyone know how they fit the starter in with these manifolds on a 170 in 1960?

If they'll fit for PS on my '67 dart, and with Offy dual carb intake, put me down for a set. Got to plan for the future...

PM me on OK fitment, and I'll put down the deposit.

Direct-drive starter modified so its housing was rotated 90° relative to its pinion housing. '62-up gear-reduction starter will not fit; as Rick has mentioned, only the coaxial '05-'08 Ram Hemi manual-trans starter will work with applications running the most common types of ring gears (i.e., cars originally equipped with the Chrysler gear-reduction starter).

Clifford shorty's fit 225 ci power steering and stock starter equipped 1967 cars. Starter is easily removed and installed with header in place.

Before replacing motor mounts top adjusting bolt atop power steering gear would contact header pipe when in reverse with brakes on even with previous owner's ball-peen hammer dimple in tube.

When I replaced the motor mounts I also made a 1/8" shim to lift engine a wee bit higher so now there is about 1/8" to 3/16" clearance between dimple and bolt.

Having just checked the space I have to say the three year old motor mounts are sagging as I recall there being a bit more clearance.

Crappy photo of my 67:

The manifolds I have are 1/2" flanges and are the same as my standard Clifford intake. Aren't all the intakes @ 1/2" thick? I never saw any thin ones?

To make this easier on everyone going forward. Please send me a PM with the following:

Name
Address
Telephone number
Vehicle - early A, Late A ...etc.
Restrictions - P/S, AC or intake it must work with

If you want them irregardless, then I don't need vehicle info.

This will help me not have to contact everyone 2 or 3 times if this happens. Once I get your info I will add you to the list. You are not obligated to anything until we know it fits your vehicle and I begin the casting process. This just tells me that yes I definitely want a set if they fit my vehicle.

Thanks to everyone.
Rick

No the stockers are closer to 3/8"-7/16", Cliffords are a true 1/2" since their flanges are that thick, Offy is closer to the 3/8-7/16" of the OEM manifolds.

It doesn't take much to have the end user surfaced to match the OEM or Offy intakes if they are going that route.

I placed a link over in the parts for sale section too.

I just check 3 exhaust manifolds of unknown years and 2 factory intakes, one from a 66 and one from a 74. All were .520 - .540" flange thickness. So 1/2" was standard for at least some years.
