Thank you, and that is true.
For my build, I want to get as many horses as possible out of the 225. I'm not taking shortcuts.. I want to get as accurate as possible with air fuel ratios and boost pressures across the cylinders. That will be the most important if I want to get even close to my 800 horsepower goal

If not, then your statement is pure opinion. I want cold hard facts, and to get those, I'll have to do this myself.

Remember, back to back runs on the same car with the same setup except for the rockers, gives you some facts to go on. Dennis is a long time drag racer and he is not just blowing smoke.

As you said you will likely need to do this yourself. And if you do and your rockers hold up and oil well, you will probably have some takers. But our Slant 6 market is always small.

The 800 HP number has never been attained by anyone, anywhere that I know of. So if you do get close you will be in a class all by yourself. Good luck!

My apologies to any snappy replies. Yesterday was not a good work day and all of the remarks claiming its "pointless" was salting the wounds.

I don't mean to disrespect any veterans, but 20 horsepower to a 300 hp motor could be potentially 60+ hp to an 800 hp boosted engine. So even a pinch becomes a scoop.

If it doesn't work, that's okay. I like experimenting

Even with a 10-12 HP gain at the flywheel, by the time the drivetrain absorbs most of it by the time it reaches the tires, you may not see an actual increase at the track, but that doesn't mean it still isn't a viable bolt-on part. You wont see any gains from a windage tray in ET and they add the same amount, but how many have still thrown down for one of those.....

Just sayin', roller rockers have been proven to reduce friction when they were first introduced over 50 years ago and more importantly, they make all of the cam timing the same on each cylinder because the ratio on each rocker is more precision, where as a stock rocker never will. That in itself is all anyone would need to know to realize the benefits of them. It just helps complement other mods you do to get the most out of everything collectively.

If I got rid of ALL the stuff people said I didnt need in my engine combo I bet I wouldnt have any records.Jefferies head, windage tray, crank scrapper, polished balanced crank, lighter wrist pins,1.6 roller rockers, external oil and elec waterpump and a $1000 continental converter might not have helped at all but I am glad I did it all and more. Now I will waste more time and money trying to build a better header.I believe ALOT of little things add up.Build a good product that works and I think you can sell a few sets a year so I dont think you will make much for your time and effort but you wont know till you try.I think its better to try something and find out you shouldnt have rather than wondering the rest of your life,,,should I have tried.I personally have several,,,I shouldnt haves but I am still glad I at least tried.MY OPINION Mark

Mark, you have a purpose built race car built with the idea of chasing records. You and your car are legends for sure. To get there it took all those "little gains" that most don't want/need to spend the money on.

Look at it this way. 20 or so years ago Mark Goodman built rockers and sold almost 100 sets.

10 years ago the Cox Brothers paid RAS to make I believe 25 sets and Jim just sold the last set last year.

Landon, this is just like any other Slant related project. You have to do it because you love it, because there is a huge chance you will lose your ass on it.

FYI, I do have 2 sets already, a Goodman 1.5 set and a Cox 1.6.

Thank you guys. That's what I love to hear. I'm not in it for the money, that's why I've dumped so much into my motor already and it's not even machined.

One day I'll have saved up enough to just have a head milled out of billet aluminum, but that's down the road. I will do whatever I can to get as close as possible to my 800 horsepower goal.
