Alright, I've officially finished patching my original '64 rad. It looks like grandmas quilt at this stage. Unfortunately a re-core is as much or more than aluminum radiators from companys like Northern Radiator Alas, they don't offer one for our beloved slant six. The closest one I can find through them is for the '60-66 Ford Falcon or Merc Comet. The sizing is perfect but the outlet is on the wrong side. Any suggestions for affordable radiator alternatives?

I used the Champion radiator for small block V8 mopar. Yes, the top port is on the wrong side, but with a side outlet waterneck and a 90 degree hose, it works fine.

Brian- Did you use the 2 or 3 core? and is the "Transmission Cooler Included" built into the bottom of the radiator(as pictured on their site)? If so, do you use stock trans. cooler lines?

A good radiator shop will be able to put a new outlet on the other side and remove the old outlet.

I had something similar done to a Corvette project. After it was done you couldn't even tell it had ever been different.

That seems like a good option. I don't mind messing with my upper hose but the lower outlet doesn't have much wiggle room.

Did you use the '66-'74 small block rad in 2 or 3 row core? Looks like they may be out of stock currently.

The universal radiators from Summit and Jegs can easily be made to work. I did in my Valiant

Mine is a '67 dart so I used that year range, small block V8. I used the 3 core, but I'm not sure you need it. It has no problems cooling my engine though. It does have the oil cooler built in, yes. About a year ago or so I went to Evans waterless coolant, that is really nice. It helps any pinging under load you might have, and there's no pressure on the system! It boils at 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
