Ok so I've rewired my car, got a new carburetor and had a bookoo loads of issues getting it running but I've finally narrowed down the issue. At first I though it was the carburetor's fault after getting a new choke for the carb it still died right after starting it every single time so I started messing around with some $#!+ and just for $#!+ and giggles decided to run a wire directly from a battery source to the positive terminal on the ignition coil and what do you know the car started and didn't die!!! thats right she friggin runs and idles and drives but the downside is I'll have to run a wire directly from the battery power source to the coil positive terminal bypassing the ballast resistor.

And before you guys think to ask I've already done a continuity test on the ballast resistor to insure its working properly, the old one was not which is why I bought a new one which works fine except one small problem. It reduces 12 volts from the battery source to 1.5 volts to the other end which is connected to the wire that goes to the ignition coil.

Not sure If I'm making sense. Ok so you have the blue with yellow striped wire and the ignition switch run wire hooked up to the same terminal on one end of the resistor and the ignition switch start wire and the wire going to the + terminal on the coil hooked up to the same terminal on the other end of the resistor. Is this the correct wiring? am I doing something wrong? So why doesn't it work?

Also because the above mention wiring doesn't seem to work properly for me and I am forced to run power to the coil strait from the battery how long would you say that coil stands to last before burning up? Its a brand new MSD Blaster Coil and its also my daily driver, well supposed to be anyways lol. How many weeks would I be able to drive like that? Also what other systems might running it like this affect? and how long before they fail as well? I don't want to run it like this forever, just til I find the cure but I need running wheels NOW!!! I'm not situated properly for public transportation and my borrowing friends vehicles is wearing thin on my friends' hospitality.

Take a look here for various wire diagrams . I previously posted just typical double resistor ignition diagram on your "Engine" post.

The last Blaster II coil I got was supplied with a ballast resistor to replace Mopar factory resistor. How long will ignition coil last at full 12 volts, I don't know, but it will overheat one too many times and short out.

I use a Pertronix flamethrower with built in resistor, so I don't have a ballast resistor, and it works fine.
