All that is required to convert a Melling five hole oil pump to a six hole oil pump is drilling out the extra hole, right?
I can flip the pump over on my drill press and zap a hole in the pump body and be good to go?

Lay the gasket on your engine and then lay it on the pump. You might be disappointed to find the gasket that fits the engine barely seals the ports when placed on the pump.

As I remembered Doc covered how to modify the gasket by adding pieces to satisfy block and pump.

Without the extra bolt the pressure on the gasket is from the center of the pump and headed north.....south side of the pump gasket looks to get little pressure so adding the bolt helps in that respect. But this gasket thing is just as important??!!
