Not sure how much it would help in this situation, but if you're ever curious how your oil is performing, sending a sample to Blackstone Labs is well worth the $20. Their website will have instructions on how to get a sample kit. They don't charge for the kits, just when you send them in. They do trans fluid as well.

They talk highly of oil analysis on BITOG. I haven't done it yet but plan on it. The oil in this project isn't going to be in there long, as it's just for a flush. But definitely want to do it for my D100 to see how she's doing.
