So, I've been reporting on my coolant leaks and the new starter, but as you know, I upgraded to the 73-76 k frame, stiffer torsion bars, new LCA's with the factory sway bar, firm feel roller bearing idler arm kit and steering sector support add on.

The feel is definitely waaay different than the stock '67 feel. Way less body roll in sharp turns. It feels a lot tighter but I'm just getting used to it; I have a little shimmy when I hit the brakes, I might have a warped drum. I need to take it back to the shop for a check. I didn't have this before, so I'm not sure where it came from; perhaps a wheel is out of balance, a weight fell off or something.

And as you said it could be a hard spot on drum surface or perhaps a tire problem, and where everything under front end is tightened up that little bit of movement is better transmitted to steering wheel.

By the way I made more or less the same up grades to my 67's front end, huge improvement. If you haven't installed new rear springs & bushings that match more closely new torsion bar spring rate there is room for a little more improvement in handling.

My car is a pleasure to drive now easily keeping up with modern traffic on the twisties.

Yes, I had already upgraded the rear springs and shocks. The ride difference is dramatic, it feels like a different car.

Congratulations! Sounds like a great upgrade/rebuild. Most people's impressions of A-body handling are either based on old worn out front end parts, or tall aspect ratio and narrow tires, or bias ply tires. When all is right, they handle really well and the road feel is hard to beat.

There's a long list of projects, but the next 4 are roughly:

1. exhaust redo from the collector back, it has a cobbled together thing, but good flow. I want to quiet it down a bit, and make the flow path a bit cleaner. I think a turbo muffler (good flow but has packing material) will quiet it down a bit over that Flowmaster (no packing). Also, I fabricated a factory-like resonator for the rear with the rectangle exhaust tip. I can post pics if anyone is interested.

2. LBP! Finalize the suspension work by swapping out rear axles, go to larger drums in the back; UCA's in the front with large ball joint, new lower ball joints and factory style KH disks (I'm going with power assist).

3. Then to sealing the glass, interior work (it's all stripped out except the front seat currently (OK, for the past two years)). I bought those nice Sebring seats at the junkyard about 3 years ago; I have the control module cleaned up, removed the extra wires, got every wire marked, just need to fabricate those brackets, test the power seat, etc.

4. body work (door hinges, seals, rear deck (I'll do that when I do the glass) and eventually, someday, maybe when I'm retired.....new paint!
