It seems to be pretty solid and complete.

At least 4 different layers/colors of paint. Originally copper then green, yellow and last a crappy red spray job. They didn't even paint behind the rear bumper.

Interior is a little dusty but otherwise pretty nice.
Looks like it was redone with the last paint job.

It's got a 225 slant that runs but the oil light stays on.

904 auto trans engages gears. I did not try to drive it yet.

The first problem to solve is the left trunk hinge is missing.
I need to hunt one up so it can be opened and closed without damaging the right hinge. Also needs a trunk latch.

I've been mindlessly waiting on some Loctite thread sealer to show up but today I realized none of my head bolt holes go through to the water passages.
I checked again just to be sure and went ahead with getting the head studs in.

Thanks Reed! I'm definitely having myself some fun with all of it.

Nothing stopping me now from getting the head on it.
I coated some sealer around all the water and oil passages.
This is ThreeBond 1184 more commonly known in my business as 'Yamabond 3'.
I also took some short lengths of thin sewing thread and made orings for each fluid passage.

The copper head gasket got matching coatings of sealer on the bottom and the top. As did the cylinder head. From years of experience the Yamabond works best when it is on both surfaces of a joint and has several minutes to set up before assembly.

Some pairs of rockers have quite a bit of side to side play, others don't.
I don't see any wear that would cause this. Looks like they were just as sloppy when new.
Is it worth the time to go back in and shim them up with some hardened washers?

Dialing in the cam timing. With the timing gears at 'zero' the cam was 2 degrees advanced.
I suppose that allows for some wearing in of the new chain and gears. I added another 2 degrees.
That puts the intake centerline at 104. I'll leave it there unless someone tells me I should do otherwise.

Looks great on all counts. Many stock rockers have substantial side clearance. Unless it gets the tip off center of the valve by more than about 0.060", I would not bother shimming. I have never shimmed stock rockers side-side and have had 6-8 different motors and more sets of rockers over the last 27 yrs. The main wear on a rocker comes at the tip on the valve end from sustained heat (road course) and/or running a big cam with stiff springs. Otherwise, they are pretty bulletproof.
