Wondering if there is a company that sells more updated versions of the stock gauges. Looking to more and faster response time from the Speedo and fuel gauges. And a 100-140 mph gauge

If your speedometer does not respond instantly, there's something wrong with it. Not sure what a "faster response" on the fuel gauge would look like; please explain what you mean. The stock gauges are not a standard size, and no, there are no "upgrade gauges" made—though there are techniques and vendors for upgrading the existing gauges.

What year and model is your car?

Instantly as in jumping up the line to the mph I'm going? I meant like staying still so I can read how fast I'm going. And the faster response on the fuel gauge I mean not dropping back down to zero then rise up every time I change from park. It's a 1980 D150. I found a Speedo with a higher max mph on eBay but not sure if it's ok to use

Sounds like you need to repair the speedo in your truck. Could be dirty innards, worn out spring, misaligned speedo cable, etc... Get a factory service manual and read p how to troubleshoot what you already have before assuming buying something new will fix the problem.

A jumping speedo is more often than not (in my experience) caused by the core of the speedo cable not rotating smoothly inside the sheath of the cable. Also the speedo's can just break internally. The easy fix is to pull out the speedo cable core and clean and lubricate it to see if that does it.

The core will normally pull out from the upper end of the cable, so you remove the upper end of the cable from the speedo. It can be a screw-on cable end or a single clip-in cable end there, depending on year. Examine the core for any loose or broken strands; that can cause the core to hang up too. If badly frayed, then the core needs to be replaced; there used to be universal cut-to-fit speedo core kits out there for that. If the core is smooth, then lubricate the core and re-inert. I like to use a light moly grease, like moly cam lube.

Sometimes when you re-insert the core, the square end of the core may not want to properly engage in the speedo when you re-attach the cable. I have fixed this by removing the lower end of the cable at the trannie and rotating the core a bit so it will engage into the speedo, and then finally re-connecting at the trannie end.

Not sure I am reading this right: The fuel gauge drops to zero when you put the vehicle in Park? Sounds like bad wiring.....??

Could be a dry speedo cable or a worn-out speedometer, seehere.

The NOS speedometer on eBay is a Canadian-specs unit calibrated in kilometres and will read as such. When you are going 30 mph, it will read "50". When you are going 50, it will read "80". The small inner scale is hard to read at night. Probably best to stick to a mile speedometer.

You're not likely to be going anywere close to 100 mph in an '80 D150. You'll have a hard time getting it to 80 mph. So why do you need a speedometer that goes higher than 85? If you really must have one, be advised the US regulation prohibiting speedometers from displaying speeds above 85 was effective as of September 1 1979 (1980 models) and was repealed in early 1982. So check pre-1979 speedometers to see if they look more like what you want.
