I know people have had success with Lokar, other aftermarket, and junkyard part cable linkage swaps for downshift linkage on 2 bbl conversions.

Has anybody done this on a 1bbl--specifically on a van?

The stock van setup is just awful. There is tons of slop and places to bind.

I am entertaining eliminating all the rod linkage and fabricating something from junkyard parts (lots of Grand Cherokees with auto transmissions in junkyards), and don't want to reinvent wheel needlessly.
