Hello! First time posting here.

So i've been having LOTS of problems with my old carter bbd.. It has vacuum leaks everywhere because it's very old and worn.. The biggest leak is in the throttle shaft--

I just want to twist the key and hear the slanty roar loud and proud. But all i get is a good performance at high rpm but the engine does not idle AT ALL..

I purchased this replacement carburetor:
http://www.uspartsperformance.fi/rally- ... t-kaasutin#
It's a Rally-RSC-BBD-HT carburetor that should be the same thing as the old carter bbd that you have in v8 318's.. Only that it's made in 2015 and it's brand new so no leaks.

I'm going to remove the linkage on my super six carter and add it to the new carb. Then i'm upgrading the steel fuel line tube to a fuel injection fuel line (Better heat resistance)

But what else do i need to do to make it work?

My setup is:
Super six + A904 + 8 1/4" sure grip.

No, it's actually a poorly-made Chinese copy. A counterfeit. A carburetor-shaped trinket. Every few years I take one of these apart to see if they've gotten any better, and they haven't -- I consider them dangerous and would not use one on my car. And even if you don't have a fireball, what passes for "calibration" on these things is a pathetic joke.

Buy an actual carburetor instead, such as this one.

Well i already blew my budget on that carb so i'm currently at 0€. So if you can sell me one for free then i'd be interested.

But yeah how bad are these things? It looks exactly the same as the old cartter bbd. Except shinyer..

Anybody got any experience on these?

EDIT:
I got my old carter to work by fiddling with the accelerator pump and the idle screws.. Now it feels like it works perfectly.. I'm just biting my nails and waiting until it starts to fail again..

The chinese knock off carb is comeing in the mail even though i don't really need it anymore.. Also i'm getting a 318 carter for free too.. So i'll have 3 carbs..

So my routine is:

Pump the gas twice and twist the key.. It starts right up and dies shortly after if i don't keep pumping the gas pedal in a certain rythmic way..

Twist the key again and boom it starts to idle..

Well it was okayish and drove but after a while of driving, boom my idle starts to go away..

This time when going into an intersection, in second gear, just before slowing down enough to shift into first, the rpms go too low and it wants to die..
Also when i'm in low rpms, if i slooowly creep the pedal down, it dies.. I have to pump it and floor it hard for it to not die on me..

I'm literally getting sick of this carb.. I've been fiddling with it for 10 weekends straight.. It has been with factory specifications and wont work.. Then custom and it wont work.. Then factory again and it wont work.. It just doesn't work no matter what you do..

I eliminated the air leaks and it doesn't hiss anymore.. But still it just works for few days and stops working..

Tomorrow i'm off to pick my chinese knockoff carb and try it on. Also i'm upgrading my steel fuel line that goes over the rocker cover and upgrade it to a rubber fuel line that can resist heat better.. (To fight vapor lock)

My temps are good so i'm not overheating if that helps?

Well i got the chinese carb on and man does it run good.
Need to adjust the accelerator pump since it's giving too much gas at WOT while in gear. (Or i need to convert the choke into manual if it's the cause.)

Don't know why this carb gets such a bad rep?
