Slant 6 Racers,

The E30/6 LeMons team finally kept the car on track all weekend and handily won C class (14 and 16 laps up from next contenders, at the finish). 325 laps in 14.5 hrs. We were 26th overall out of 112 cars with a 2:04.47 fast lap (by yours truly, and 0.5 sec faster than best B class car).

Engine was a little wheezy after about 12 hrs of running, but ended fine. 3rd full race with this engine, so will probably freshen it over the winter.

My plan is to spend a 3-4 day weekend at Jason's place (near Atlanta) in Jan/Feb reworking and improving a bunch of stuff to make the car faster and more reliable. I think we can win B class, but it will take further suspension and engine development and bigger tires.

Now to make that thing Class B fast. Are you guys running a 4-barrel? I'm having an O/S valve job done before MSR, but we're talking about going MPFI later if we're still too slow.

Thanks, everyone! We are having fun with it.

Frank, we are running an old 500 2bbl on an old Clifford intake. We need to do some carb/ign tuning and I am working on porting a head w/engnbldr valves, as immediate items. Might advance the cam a bit too. Need dragstrip or autoX testing so we don't have to guess at changes at the LeMons race. I suppose we might go to megasquirt eventually, but other things will take priority.
