Okay, I wondered where all this stuff ended up.

Zilla was talking to me just the other day and said he was missing some hair pins.

I have been missing some vintage coins and I know that you DID NOT list the missing silver dollars.

Anything Falstaff related has to belong to Mater - this is what he buys in KY. He has to relocate to the Fatherland every so often to get good beer.

The pull tabs prolly belong to Sandy - most likely some sort of vintage red ale from the great white north.

DT, please return these at once because of the sentimental value.

Red ale only comes in bottles.....

Are pull tabs not a kind of beer parlour lottery game?

got the 68 barracuda off jack stands and back on the ground this past weekend. 8.75 in the rear,, new springs, shackels, shocks,, front end suspension and steering all re built,, 4 wheel disks, and new brake lines,, still need to bleed the brakes,,

the wheels on the car are the OE rims from the 83 D-150,, the tires on the front rims are actually the 1983 OE tires,, trust me the tires are just to roll the car around on,, although I plan to run the car on the steel wheels for awhile anyway..

the block and head are back from the machine shop, had them hot tanked, not going to do a lot to this motor,, staying with stock valves,, but I did have the head cut .080, I am going to pull the valves and do some port clean up and change out the stem seals,, for the case, I will re build the oil pump, put in a new timing chain, have the cam ground, the cranking compression was not bad,, 120 on all cylinders,, the OE pistons, rings and bearings are all going back in..

I'll build a better motor later,, for now just want to get the car powered.

the motor is re assembled and back in,,

https://www.flickr.com/photos/13718356@ ... 325999761/

took the engine apart, block and head hot tanked, it had a lot of internal sludge and crud.

for the head, cut .080, mild porting, oe valves, valve job, new valve seals and newer springs.
for the case, reused OE pistons, rings and all bearings, new timing chain and re ground cam, new water pump, new head gasket and all seals replaced. Newer fuel pump, oil pump is the OE pump from the 83 D150,

progress :D

I saw a post by Rick Covalt, mentioning using a power steering bracket and the OE alternator adjusting arm to left side low mount a Denso alternator on a slant.

as Rick mentioned, welded washers on the power steering bracket 'drop in' holes, to secure the Denso body,
A stock slant alt adjusting bracket fits nicely to the 12:00 water pump bolt,

I did some calculations for the belt,
length calculates to 37.78 in, so it appears to be a C38 V belt

http://www.slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=57821

the clerks at AZ were completely lost when I asked for a C38 V belt,
moved over to NAPA, they could get one, but wanted $28 and change with no return,, went to the internet, got one being shipped to me from vbeltsupply.com for 21.00,, actually for the 21, I have a 37 and 38 inch ordered,
as I think I can swing the alternator up a bit closer and use a C37.

Got the Denso from the local pull a part,, off a Dodge 1500, checks out good, 90 amp.

here are photos:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/13718356@ ... 4109045568

the alt belt in the photos was cut to 38 inches inside length and tapped together.

Nice work. Looks familiar, only I used a parts store chevy alternator top bracket with a couple of bends.

Progress is good!
