Phil Painter just emailed me with the 2004 event date, looks like he has things "nailed down" for the 2nd annual "Mopars at the Strip" :D

Here is Phil's email:

We are happy to announce the 2004 Dates for the Mopars at the Strip event held at the Fabulous Las Vegas Motorspeedway.
March 19, 20 & 21, 2004
For more information watch our web-site at www.moparsatthestrip.com or call 702-858-8685.
Thanks,
Phil Painter

I booked a room at the Ramada Inn. 1-877-333-9291
It sounds like they are filling-up fast so get on a room reservation if you plan to go.
If anyone needs a flyer on this event, drop me an email but truth is that Phil Painter is advertizing the hell out of the event so finding the info. is a snap.
Did anyone see the multi-page "infomercial" Mopars at the Strip had in the Collector's Guide and Mopar Muscle?

Tom Drake and I are working on a format where we list all the up-coming SSRN Points events in this section, then "sticky" the events as they come up.
This sounds like a good idea so we will 'Sticky' the Las Vegas season opener now and try to start messages on all the other 2004 events so we can get up-dates and "whos going" info out to everyone.

BTW, we are working on some extra awards / pay-outs for the Vegas event, we want to encourage new racer so even if you have a "street car", try to get out to this one.

I'm 95% sure I'll be in Vegas for this race and looking forward to seeing the action in person . . . perhaps even send 4000# down the strip! (Not yet sure about that).

Really looking forward to seeing everybody. Let's pull out all the stops and continue to represent at this great Mopar event.

see you in March!

Way to go AL !! 8)
I'm sure you will get a lot of attention with that BIG Red Supercharged Slant. You really do need to make a pass or two with your car, just to "wow" the crowd.

Al T and I decided that we need to "spice-up" the Vegas SL6 action a little so we scraped-up some extra $$$ to award to our group.

So...on top of the $500.00 pay-out from Fastway Automotive, we will also pay $150.00 to the:
"Quickest Draw in the West"
$150.00 will be awarded to the racer who pulls the best reaction time during the SL6 bracket race on Sunday.

Seeing this is Las Vegas and we want to get new Slantsixers out to this event, we will offer the:
"One Arm Bandit Pay-Back"
This special pay-out is available to all first time Slant Six participants who run the SL6 bracket race.
$300.00 will be split evenly among all the new Slant racers who run the first round. If you are the only "first timer" to make the first round "call", you get $300.00, if you are one of 4 new racers, each of you get $75.00
Bottomline: if you show-up and run a SL6 car at the Las Vegas event, you win money! :D

Make your plans and get out to Mopars at the Strip....See you there!

Al, that's awesome you're going to make Vegas. Wish I could make it. Does this mean two big trips to the SW this year??

Hope you're not the only first timer to win that $300 too.

Enabling a lifestyle, eh... 8)

Lou

I'll see you kooks there... no reason not to make the drive! Besides, it'd be nice to put faces to the names!
I'll be in either my 69 Cuda or the Fugly little dart, unless the Flying Lunch Box is tapped for tow duty.
I won't be participating in the SSC this year... maybe next time...

Does SSC = the Slant Six bracket race?
Again,...enter the SL6 race with any SL6 powered car, make a pass in the first round and you win money. 8) Even if you push the car down the track, you still win cash. :o

How does that commercial go...What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!

Or in our case only published in a nationwide magazine and newsletter!
