I do have one more question
Does anyone know where to find a decent deal on a solid A body 8 3/4 rear end that is ready to drop in
What do you consider a "decent deal"?
Don't forget to allow for shipping, or transfer thru the slant six transportation system.
What is your location?

so i have a question about the oversized valves. 170 and 144? so is that the valve head diameter? and would that be 1.70" for the intake valves and 1.44" for the exhaust valves? sorry, bit of a noobish question, kinda new to this head building business.

Unfortunately Enginblder no longer has any 1.70 intakes. Last I talked to him he still had a few sets of 1.44 exhausts. He told me he did not plan on doing any more production runs of either valve. His plan is to retire soon.

I got my first set from SI valves and they are still holding up fine, they will be a bit more $$$ than the Enginebldr versions, I have 2 heads with his valves and have had no problems with them but they don't have the daily driving mileage the Si valves have on them (60K miles and stood up to intake configuration changes and compression ratios from 9 to 11.7...) So far I have only seen one failure on the Enginebldr valves in Kidd's car after one of the valves lost it's head during a run...

Chev small block V8 valves 1.72 intake and 1.50 exhaust are an easy swap. I use the matching springs, retainers and locks. The price is right and they are always available.

Most machine shops find it familiar to do a bowl hog , spring seat maching and valve job "Chevvy style"

The valve lengths are a little different so pushrods from Smith Bros will be needed. If you doing any amount of head or block deck milling you will need new pushrods anyway.
