My 300C with death ray projector headlamps burning automatically senses intensity of rainfall and commands the wipers to activate at a velocity appropriate to keep windshield clear. Sometimes a batch of juicy spring bugs splattering will set them wagging back & forth smearing their entrails evenly across the glass. And, you think variable speed is annoying.

Note to self: invent "bug guts be gone" windshield washer solvent, and or night vision goggles.

Good luck with the conversion, and be glad there are no hidden black boxes commanding you classic ride.

Already invented......about the time the winter washer fluid is gone its time for the pink Bug Juice.....Rain X makes a good version

I like some of the black boxes I added to the 'Soto .....specially the daytime running lights and Twighlight Sentinel. Each to his own.....

I'm in no risk of switching sides but I have a '62 Comet Custom wagon and it has a proper rheostat like a light switch dimmer in your house and it is very controllable, so the technology was there. The downside is that wipers are boosted by vacuum so they pretty much stop when you put the hammer down.
Oh Ford.

the only wipers that I've seen that are acceptable are the new ones. My CTS senses the level of rain and runs the wipers accordingly...short of that, two speed wipers are just as good (or bad) as variable speed, you end up playing with the wiper knob or delay knob anyway...

Yeah, another falcon by Ford.

A 62 Comet wagon!; I haven't seen one of those things since the sixties, nice.
