My info 82 83 truck parts says 4241 226 is for one barrel. 3820 952 for two barrel. 30 plus year old info, Trust worthy unkown?

I just measured my truck from the firewall to the mounting stud of my carb is 15". Allowing for a little sag in the cable and @ 3" inside the cab and the cable for my truck should be about 19-20" OAL. Now where is it! :lol: :lol:

All the cables I see are between 26.5 and 30" long. None of them are going to work without a loop, which we are trying to avoid.

Also just for reference: From the firewall to the super six cable clamp in a straight line is 9". That means the main housing should be 10-11" long

If anyone locates one let me know.

Aspen and Volare two barrel cables did not have a loop. I have owned several and converted several. The one barrel cable was longer than the two barrel cable.

The bottom cable in your picture is what I am trying to find for a truck. I already have a loop and what to eliminate it. I am using the original 1 barrel cable that was on my truck and I have a kind of a spiraled twist in it to get to the cable bracket.

Also just for the record, I searched through my 86 FSM for 45 minutes last night for a picture or a description with no luck.

I admit I have never worked on a 1980 two barrel Aspen or Volare, but every factory 77-79 Diplomat, LeBaron, Aspen, and Volare I have ever seen or worked on did not have a loop in the throttle cable. I have converted single barrel cars to two barrel carbs and re-used the single barrel throttle cable by looping it, but the factory two barrel cable was shorter than the single barrel and did not have a loop.

I suspect that the FSM page you are posting is a 1980 only item.

http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php ... 6569&jsn=4 This link shows the mounting length, 20 inches. Cut a length of wire to 20 inches. Go from fire wall down half loop and back up to angled bracket. Might be to long or too short or just right.
