Hi guys
i have recently done a few very mild upgrades to my 225 dart.
i have put an electronic ignition kit on my distributor new plugs and wires new brakes new gas tank and fuel lines new fuel filter 2 bbl (i think 350 cfm) holley carb and very soon i will be putting on new (2 1/4 in) exhaust.
So i was wandering what upgrade or mod i should do to the engine next. The only relatively big upgrade i did was the 2bbl carb and adapter. Any thoughts on exhaust? and what should my next move be. thanks for the help

Also with the current upgrades i have what rpm do you think the engine will peak at. i know that the added fuel should up the power curve a little. And what rpm do you think it is safe to call the "redline"

It's impossible to determine peak torque apart from knowing things like cam profile, carburetor size and spark curve, compression, exhaust, and so on.

I'm running a Holley 350 cfm 2 barrel and dual Dutra manifolds on a stock hydraulic 225 and it pulls like a 318 up to about 4K, then falls on its face. But it's rare that I rev past 2500 rpm.

Thanks for the help. So is it safe to run in up to 4k or are you pushing your motor hard

If it has stock valvesprings it will quit making any power around 4500 rpm. It might wind a little higher, but it won't be making much steam.

So would installing stiffer valve springs help increase the rpm. And would it be worth doing to my engine as it is

You need to look at the total package. Buzzing past 4500 even with stiff valvesprings would just make more noise if you have a stock cam, intake, exhaust, and so on.

I think I might put on stiffer springs (not too much stiffer than stock) and 1.6 rocker arms. Just to give it a few extra rpm.

If you find 1.6 rocker arms that are less than $500 a set please let everyone know.
