Double-checking - did the factory Chrysler V2 A/C compressor setup for 63 Darts come with a different power steering pump mounting bracket vs. manual steering A/C equipped cars?

I haven't hauled out my parts list book yet to verify - wondering if anyone knows the answer straight off the top of their heads...?

For 65/66's with factory AC and PS, the mounting bracket and pulley is different from the PS without factory AC.

Yes, the P/S pump bracket is different with A/C.

Thanks Dan. Is the p/s pump and pulley itself any different?

The pump is the same.

The pulley, that's where things get a little murky. The answer is "probably different". In '64 the pulley was flat without A/C, conical (belt line moved forward) with A/C. That is probably the same in '63, but the '63 book has only one P/S pump pulley entry for Dart/Valiant: "without A/C". Which implies there should be a "with A/C" entry, too, as there is in '64…but nope, no such entry in '63. (If there were only one pulley, listing convention would have it in there without any mention of A/C one way or the other). Further clouding matters, the pump, bracket, and pulley numbers are different for '63 vs. '64, even though some or all of the components are surely identical or at least interchangeable.

Thanks for the detail. I'm sure my parts list book would have frustrated me.

Does anyone happen to have a picture of the correct p/s W/A/C mounting bracket I need? I may be pushing my luck here...

Really wish I'd taken better detailed photos of my 64 Dart's engine compartment before I sold it a long time ago. That car had power steering and factory A/C. With that darn fan shroud.

I can take a picture so you know what you're looking for - can't sell mine as I will be using it. I will check with a friend who just bought a bunch of slant AC/PS parts while out in AZ.

Be advised: plenty difference between '64 and '65 brackets and pumps and stuff.

Appreciate you asking. Let me know if anything comes of it. Early A/C-equipped Darts seem uncommon, and ones sporting both p/s and A/C seem really scarce. At least, I've not seen too many.

@SSD - thanks. Noted.

I did check with him and he didn't find either so he's looking as well.
