Found this idle mixture screw set on ebay. Says it's for 70-'71 BBD's. Assuming this is for the 318c.i. BBD. Mine appear to be the correct width and TPI (Threas Per Inch.) 10-32. Counted the threads correctly but 10 is a gauge, not MM (imperial here) and is neither a fraction of an inch. Anyways, the total thread length on my Idle mixture screws appeared to be a little over 1/2"...these appear much longer. Will these work?
If not then where can I get the correct idle mixture screws for a (presumably) 1979 Dodge Aspen (my working parameter) Carter BBD for a 225 slant six?

The shape and length of taper and end tip size are important for idle screws. The base plate and idle screws are a matched set. Whats the number on the bottom of throttle plate base.

I do not think those are correct for your carb.30-223 for idle mixture screw was for most 78 79 carbs. carter number 30-231 was used on carb numbers 8199 8242.
Yeah. Neither Walker or Mike's carbs have either of those part numbers...I'm not even sure where you got them...I've been searching all over the website and can't find anything (in engine F.A.Q. and Carter BBD manual) containing any lists for for the BBD part numbers let alone the idle mixture screws. :?

Unfortunately I don't know the carb number as the I.D. tag was lost long ago.

The needle taper and length of the above appears to be the same as the overall length of the one remainder idle screw I have...

Can't find the 30A-223 idle mixture screw anywhere. Google brings up this thread and nothing else. Ebay brings up absolutely nothing as well.
