Anyone have experience with this product? It doesn't get a mention in Dan Stern's article on manifold installation (copyright 2002), possibly because the article predates the product release (unkown). Care to comment pro or con?

Three thumbs up from me. Remflex gaskets are excellent for sealing the two manifolds together and for sealing the exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold. I am not a fan of the head to intake gasket because both times I have experienced it a Remflex gasket at that union disintegrates and is hard to remove when the manifolds are separated form the head.

The Remflex gaskets are a definite YES!!!

Remflex gaskets work great, plenty of crush, no leaks. They also make the 6008b, riser gasket, and 6006 for the down pipe...I use all three.

Reed's observations is a good one, having changed my head a few times in the past few months, the Remflex gasket tends to attach to the head and pull apart if you try to remove it. That said, it is easy to clean off, it is graphite and a wire brush takes it off instantly.

Interestingly, my Dutra Duals are ceramic coated, and the Remflex doesn't stick to that at all (but seals well against it) nor does it stick to my aluminum offy intake manifold. It must be the hot bare cast iron that it has a sticking issue with. So, if you have ceramic coated exhaust manifold(s) and aluminum intake, they pull away cleanly and you can reuse the Remflex (which is stuck to the head).

I would never attempt to reuse a manifold gasket except in an emergency. Lousy odds you'll have to do the job over again with a new gasket, and that's a backbreaker. Not worth the risk for the price of a new gasket set.

The heavy duty gasket that the Cox brothers made and recently Brian Droschak had made, can be reused multiple times. I place a thin film of a clear grease on it and I have used the one on my race car for three engines and for another Hyperpak install. This may not be the absolute best thing, but there was a time when the Cox brothers gaskets were a little harder to get. So we needed to reuse them. Once I started reusing them it worked so well I will keep dong it as long as there no obvious damage to the gasket.
