Is there anyone else out there in slant six land that might actually be interested in performing this swap? I'm thinking about putting kits together for this swap if there is enough interest. I know there are still a lot of technical "if's" to be sorted out, but I haven't found anything yet that is a deal breaker.

If there even an 80% complete kit, or just the key parts, I would very likely want a set (or two).

I assume this trans can handle something like 300-350 ft lbs, or maybe some versions more? I never thought the WC T5 would get scarce, but it is starting to get that way, it seems. One more gear and more closely spaced gears would be nice too. That setup would be killer with a 2.94 or 3.23 rear axle.

Any idea of the weight of the trans and bellhousing/kit, w/ or w/o clutch parts? I am a bit of a weight weenie... ;)

I would be interested as well. I ended up selling my group buy adapter to a member who needed it more than I did at the time. Now that I'm sloooowly proceeding on my engine/833 combo, a 6 speed sounds good!

I'll get some weights in the near future. I've been slammed with real machining work to pay the bills and haven't had time to work on the adapter any further.

I would basically offer the parts that you can't get at a parts store. I think they would include at least:

-Adapter plate and fasteners
-Possibly a custom flywheel with replaceable friction surface
-Custom pilot bushing or bushing adapter

Count me in, a custom flywheel w/the offset built in I find preferable to any
spacer/long bolt or extra thick option. I am going to do some homework as
to shaft coupling, torque capacity etc., but it sounds perfect for one of my
projects, :D .

Project Update!

I've been swamped this summer with work and finally had a moment to come up for air and work on hobbies. I have the adapter plate model 95% done. I just need to double check a few dimensions and then I can have one laser cut so I can put the hole patterns in it.

I am open to options for my '64 Project, and I am not afraid to cut the trans tunnel as needed,

The trans tunnel in my G35 is very tall (in comparison) and the shift linkage attaches to the shifter right above/behind the yoke. Your tunnel would have to stay tall pretty far back...

Could get interesting...

Josh is correct. I've been working with a company called CBF Performance to refine and manufacture his shifters that relocate the shifter further forward. The front mount shifter is approximately 26.625" from the end of the bellhousing. That should be close to the original placement or at least it will come up in front of the bench seat.
