well its back at it again or maybe I'm crazy. the last issue was over charge and its problem came from a bad voltage regulator. two regulars and a alternator down the road with grounding problem solved. but now it seems to be under charging with a boost truck will stay on can turn on my lights with the radio flashing out once then back to normal but the alt gauge jumps around from the middle slightly left then right never straying far from the middle not reaching the normal line to the right.

1. What "normal line to the right"? The ammeter should be hanging out near the middle of the gauge.

2. Exactly what alternators and regulators are you buying, and where?

in my truck the alt gauge shows me that the battery is charging being the center is 12v and the next line to the right 15v or so.
and the parts from advance auto stock replacements.
But the problem has be fixed not solved, ran another wire from the alternator to the battery now I have no charging issue just no gauge.

Oh! Yeah, your ammeter is not going to work any more since you ran a wire direct from alternator to battery. Also, lines on the ammeter do not reflect particular voltages. It's an ammeter, not a voltmeter. Also, parts store "remanufactured" alternators (and other parts) are notorious junk.
