Above is a link to A1 auto parts.
I just recieved a NEW exhaust man for my 73 Scamp \6 from them
and looking at it in my hands, it really looks great!
Came with a new heat riser, triangles and copper rounds
for the head bolts,
intake/exhaust stud for mating the two.
All this for $109 plus shipping of $35 to my door,
for that price it's a "give me" ....

But......

Has anyone used one of these? or am I the frist???
feedback welcome.....

Yep, these new Chinese-made exhaust manifolds are available from various vendors, and 1AAuto seem to have a good reputation as a careful and responsive vendor. Check the fit of the manifold carefully; make sure it doesn't bind on any of the mounting studs, otherwise you'll break studs sooner than later.

And note that it is very much worth your while to wait the few extra days for the good gaskets for the manifolds-to-head and the intake-to-exhaust (heat riser/hotbox) junctions.

Made in China seems the pretty much the norm on a lot stuff today,
lot's of FedMog stuff made there too, hard to get away from it
comming from around the world..... I'll have to check that
box, didn't look China made (cardboard was too good)....
Gaskets from down under are on the way......
China castiron, Aussy gaskets, US built engine/car........
or was it built on your side of the boarder :P

8) thanks Dan for the feedback :!:

Yeah, I was really dissapointed, when I ordered a brand new Wagner master cylinder, for a Cougar, and the box said "made in China".

Speaking as someone who works for one of Federal-Mogul's suppliers, I try increasingly hard to avoid their stuff on my cars.

Well got everything bolted up. Only clearance issue was at the
water/therm housing, had to grind a little off the exhman. there, otherwise
good to go......
Aussie gaskets went in just fine and sealed like a charm,
again some miner trimming in the same area as the exh man.....

I ordered one for my latest 62 slant 6 Valiant project. I got one for a 70 and it is going to work just great. I did have to drill out the back bold hole on the intake manifold just a bit but and, the holes on the exh flanges are taped and on the orig one they are drilled for pass thru bolts. I like the new heat riser on the 70 manifold, it is a wheel and is going to work real good.
