Thanks Dan , my oil filter is up side down so those wall-mart filters are most likely not a good choice
Wal-Mart filters are most likely not a good choice no matter whether they're mounted up, down, or sideways.

The shortest version of my "buy the best I reasonably can" list is brakes, tires, shoes, and eyeglasses. But the next-shortest version of it includes oil filters.

Using only filters with a stand pipe would be a very big thing

Update : 5 /8/17 I will change oil filter from wall-mart
I notice some times that typical no oil sound equal to a fresh unprimed oil filter at startup If I can't find a wix dealer Amazon seems to have
wix 51806 for $14 .

I am very aggressively cleaning out my garage. I have five ultrapremium oil filters (four Fleetgard LF-3487 synthetic-media items, one Hastings Densite depth-type item). They will not drain down overnight; you will not get clattering bearings on startup, and they keep the oil clean enough to drink (but please don't). Lowest price I see on 'em is $14.99; who wants to take all five off me for $10.99/ea? Postage from Seattle WA. Send me a PM.

LOL...

I remember when STP additive was all the rage in the 70's for older vehicles... I also remember not too long ago one of my buddies who still subscribed to that older information lost oil pressure on his 'occasional' driver... the truck sat a couple weeks, and the temperature was cold... and the STP laden 10W40 got a bit thick and clogged some of the oil galleys....
he rebuilt the engine after that disaster and now is back to standard 10W30 and no additives...
