Charles Myers just couldn't take it anymore! He's coming to Clay City as a
RACER!!
He has swapped a few parts around and now has a Slant 6 powered V/SA 1980 Dodge Mirada to come back and "Run with the Slants!"
He will have to answer if he took one of his son's cars and put a Slant 6 in it or if he built his own car...
Charles was the "First in the 9's" in his Plymouth Arrow and eventually took a hiatus from Slant 6 racing to focus on supporting his two sons in their racing. He kept all of his "Slant 6 stuff" under the work bench all those years, and we're glad he did! The Mirada won't be running in the 9's like the Arrow did, but you can be sure it will be running very close to (or maybe a tad faster than
) the current NHRA V/SA Class Index of 15.50. The V/SA 1/4 mile record is a 13.63 @ 96.04 MPH set by some Chebbie from Kansas back in 2016, so don't be surprised to see Charles' Mirada running closer to that 13.63 than the 15.50 Index.
