Yep, no hole in the ear for a front or rear either. Kind of looks like an old photo Doc used to have on the old .com board where he had a wheelbarrow full of dutra blanks...

Hopefully he got a good deal on the casting molds... on the other side of things, shipping from Australia won't be cheap for us ....

I would love to get a Dutra manifold, mainly to say I have one. But now that new ones will have to be sourced from Australia, I think I am just going to fall back on taking old stock manifolds to my local fabrication shop and paying them $100 to weld up a set of manifolds. I imagine the cost of shipping a Dutra manifold from Australia to Washington state would be more than $100. I once priced the cost of shipping a crank damper bolt from WA to Oz and the shipping cost was over $30. For a BOLT.

Still, I hope Doug got a good deal on the buyout. I am hapy for him. He had a dream and pursued it and actualy made something new in the world.

I'll take a wait-and-see approach on the price matter. The Aussiespeed people, from what I've seen, appear to have their act together. They may be able to effect savings on casting and machining that will keep the "in hand" price reasonable. They can do math as well as any of us, as far as what people will/won't be willing to pay.

Better (much better!) for Aussiespeed to have bought it than these other options I can think of:

• Sold to Layson's: price and hassle go up, quality and likelihood of actually getting them once you've paid go down.

• Discontinued and tooling scrapped.

I don’t disagree. If Doug was goimg to sell, I’m glad the tooling went to Aussiespeed.

It may be possible (I have no idea) for them to bulk ship items if you don't mind waiting till the big box fills up.......

Do they facilitate/improve(?) a turbo install enough to justify the cost?

They already bulk ship some things to Small Town speed shop. We got some things from them for Ryan for Christmas.
