Just pulled old 1964 /6 with cracked block and was surprised to see bottom of fuel pump in contact with corner of motor mount & bracket. Mounts were new last summer. I ground a little clearance in mount and bolted it on the newer 73 /. Pumps appear to be identical replacement units. Any ideas on what gives with the zero clearance on the pump?

Do you have a picture, so we can see what's going on?
