I just swapped out my 9in drums (front) with the Scarebird disc kit. Also had to change out the master cyl and got the dual well, one small one large, with 15/16 bore. I reused the original push rod. But now it seems like the brake pedal is too low, and I have to really push it in order to get it to stop.
Is it possible that the push rod needs to be shortened? is there an adjustable one that will fit??

Also I have bleed, and bleed and bled everything, so I dont think it is air. Does anyone know how high the brake pedal should be at resting?
thanks for help..
66 dart, disc in front, drums in back. Also adj proportioning valve installed for rear. though I have it wide open and it does not lock up.

As installed, does it reach long enough to contact the brake switch? If that is correct, I am not sure how the rod could be incorrect. If the pedal is too low, it needs to be longer. I know a different piston bore diameter will give you a different pedal feel and brake operation.

A smaller bore master will give you an easier/softer pedal with more travel, since you're pushing less fluid for each inch of stroke. This could lead to your pedal being lower when pressed. Are you saying it's too low when you step on it, or does it start out too low?

it feels like it is same height as before I swapped out, but I have to push it farther in order to get it to stop. And it doesnt feel real hard like I expect. But if I stomp on it real good it comes to a fast halt.

Try 1" master cylinder. Also chek if calipers that they have bleeder screws on top of the cylinder.
Its impossible to bleed calibers if they have been swapped from side to another.

Also how full is each resovoir supposed to be on this dual chamber master cylinder? One is big, one is small.

I fill them to near brimming full and call it good.
