I think they have to be gas charged to be mounted with the reservoir part of the damper to be mounted in the top position otherwise the oil aerates and you lose damping. I think. :)

I believe all gas charged shocks also have damping oil in them. I know for a fact that Edelbrocks have oil for damping because one of mine leaked oil out over a period of months.

I wasn't disputing that they contain oil just that to mount them with the reservoir up they have to be gas charged and not just a conventional air/oil shock.

All shocks/struts are oil filled, and because of their superior performance, almost all are now gas charged. Gas charging does the same thing as running the cooling system under pressure, it raises the boiling point and reduces foaming, which seriously degrades the performance of anything designed to operate hydraulically.
Back on subject, looks like good progress Greg, and cool to have found those Eddy units!! I bet You and Your adorable helper can't wait for spring!! And lets hope it's not another soppy one like last Year here in "Seattle-East"!!

Thanks Killer, hopefully come spring we can be cruising in the car again to daycare etc.

For now we have another warm and soggy February with only 7 days in so far.

Let the landslides begin :-(

Small sector?
Bearings or bushings?
I wonder why it doesn't show up for 66 and earlier...they only show the rebuild service for them.

The one i have uses the manual steering pitman arm.

Thanks for the tip 8)
I forgot that manual boxes were more consistently small sector.

It's the best price I've seen, so it might actually fit my budget now :D
