Rob how did you set tension on your belt? is it like my blower belt that has 1in of play at the middle long section too allow for shrinkage when the belt get`s hot?

Nice Setup there Terry, I might suggest to turn that filter adapter upside down to prevent messy filter changes - Otherwise it's great!

thanks Greg, was thinking of that but the used line and fitting I got on ebay limited me a bit but I have been changing oil with the filter up for all these years kind of makes me feel like I still have the stock pump!! :lol:

changed the filter out line, gives me a little more clearance between the two lines.Image

reading rick`s post on -12 an line having internal spring, never checked mine to see if -16 an line had one. will these pumps suck the line closed and lose oil pressure?

Not sure of the answer, but Greg had a line separate internally and close off as RPM went up. I put the spring in as a precaution. I'm guessing these pumps have a lot more suction than a normal pump.

found 4ft length online have to order some. I see round stock and flat stock spring style, don`t know which is better for flow restriction??

Rob, found a post on Peterson site that stated, the belt tension should be tight enough so belt can be turn almost 90degs so you can see the teeth of the belt. too tight and the belt can wear the aluminum pulley.

got her running, 180degs engine temp and 110degs oil temp, oil pressure 75psi turned adj screw 2 full turns drop to 65psi. not sure if pulley ratio has anything to do with idle pressure. https://youtu.be/MlI_nRwZk3Q

will made my first trip too the track last weekend! had alternator trouble on Saturday got three pass 7.30`s got it sorted out for sunday ran only 7.20`s . car seemed heavy on fuel because it was surging even at idle which was surprising, it was a really hot day for up here, everyone was slower . once I had the charging problem fixed I was thinking it might be timing! I was set at 28degs with 10psi . that was the setting that gave me a 7.03et last year but seems this cam like less, turned it back to 22degs and she picked up and ran a 7.18et and 7.17et , the surging seem to clear up a bit. so I need to reset the dist to get the time back to the high teen`s. oil pump worked great was talking to SCP dry sump pumps in California he said pump might be a little large for my engine so he advised me to cut three coils of the green spring which gave my 50psi at idle and 90psi at 6000rpm, I have only 9 runs but have noticed the in the shut down the oil pressure wonders but come back steady. might have to run a extra oil in the sump. the pan can handle 8 quarts, I only have 5 quarts now. been a hard year weather wise, only three weekends two with rain outs so they have added a extra weekend on the 27th September . praying for dry!! :lol:

Sounds great, Terry! I always love to read your updates. Maybe the 6s are in sight for 2020... IMHO, losing <0.05 sec of ET due to higher oil level splashing the crank vs. losing your motor seems like an easy choice to me. Too bad about the rainouts - dang.

Lou. one of those summers, rain on weekends, sunshine week days! that's life out on the atlantic ocean!! haha. this weekend is showing some promising weather! I think the pan has enough to keep oil of the crank but I am not running a tray because this pan was mocked after the old Chrysler super stock pan which they said didn`t need a tray! might have to re-think that if I see any problems running a higher oil level.
