I did check the float height and made sure it was set to 7/16" as the manual shows. I did have to adjust it down to lower the float which would lower the fuel level. I didn't notice any change after doing that. Good thought though.

Lou, I just thought I would let you know that yes, the car does run better at wot in the 12.5-13.0:1 range.

I took it to test n tune at my local 1/8 mile track last Friday. The weather was great. 62 degrees with 45% humidity and 30.25 baro.

My first pass it ran a 10.553 @ 67.05 mph. The a/f ratio was 13.2:1.

I changed to the next size smaller metering rod on the power step and made a 2nd pass. It ran a 10.39 @ 67.5 mph. A/F ratio was 12.6:1.

I changed to the next size smaller metering rod on the power step and made a 3rd pass. It ran a 10.47 @ 67.1 mph. A/F was 12.2:1.

I changed back to the same metering rod as the 2nd pass and bumped the timing up 4 degrees. It ran a 10.37 @ 67.6 mph. A/F was back to 12.6:1.

I need to go out and buy another dial back timing light to verify my timing advance. I've had 4 of the dial back lights fail over the last 20 years including a Snap-On. Every one of them has been just out of warranty. I really like the digital ones with the rpm gauge built in but they are not very durable.

Now I just need to increase my secondary jet size and decrease the primary metering rod size to get everything lined out again in the carb.

I also found that Nitto sells 205/55/14 street legal auto cross tires pretty reasonably. Thinking about getting a pair of these and putting on my old 14" rims so I can swap at the track to get the rpm's up and still get good traction. It should get me back in the 9's in the 1/8 mile(hopefully) as I used to run there before I put the big tires on the back.
