Hi Lukus,

Sounds good.

Can you give me more specs or info on the "six pack" cam? 300 lift does not make sense. Can you find the duration at 0.050" valve lift? You could always just order a second one of the Oregon 346 cam for that motor.

Are you going to cut the block on the hotter motor, or do you have a deck height (piston at TDC) measurement? If you are going to have 235 psi cranking pressure, then you will want a really big cam. Race gas, I assume?

Lou
Hey Lou I wasnt planning to cut the block dad said he cut the head 0 on intake side and 200 on plug side and had 235 compression. Now what I'm running into is he cant remeber if he was running a dome piston or a flat top piston when he done that. Do you have any idea if a flat top piston and that head would really give that kind of compression. Hes having trouble remembering but bless him he is 87 years old and I probably should have figured a lot of this out a long time ago.im planning to run a flat top Weisco piston its is just a few thousand bigger than .100 over they sent me the exact bore size but I would have to go back to my email to get it. That piston is special order or they have .045 over in stock that quite a bit cheaper. Am i going to gain enough with the bigger piston to be worth the roughly 150 dollars more?
Thanks again for all the help everyone in figuring this out

That head cut alone will not get you 235 psi cranking pressure. I think I recall Meril saying he cut the block 0.100" with that head mill. Be careful about the Wiseco pistons. If they are the "off shelf" ones, you will need 7" long rods (Molnar or K1 or stock 198) or the pistons will be way down in the hole.

Bring that cam to Maryland and we'll take a look and make measurements.

Lou

The pistons are not off the the shelf they said would have to be special ordered but I will double check with them on that thanks for that info I wasnt aware of that. He may very well have had the block cut then I know he had some dome pistons at 1 time also I was thinking maybe he was running them.
If I'm able to have the cam out of the dart by that time I will bring it. My work schedule makes it hard to get things done thanks again
