I am going to turbo the 225 slant. Anyone have a good place to get forged internals?? I currently have the cast crank. I was urged to use all forged internals to do this application. So where is the best place get these: crank, rods, pistons, etc. Or even a stroller kit that is available? Any help would be appreciated thanks in advance

If you want a forged crank you also need the block and rods that go with it.

Unless you plan on really turning up the boost, your cast crank will be fine.

You can pretty much get a forged crank along with the rest of the engine on Craigslist or just about anyplace....I see Slant Sixes for sale cheap all over.

Buy a slant older than 1977 and it will have a Forged crank.

The ignition timing and fuel controls are far more important to a long-lived boosted engine than the strength difference between cast and forged pistons or crank. Heck, you can melt down ceramic coated forged pistons naturally aspirated if it runs lean at high power. As pointed out, the cast slant six crank introduced in mid 1976 is quite strong. The rods are forgings. The pistons are cast, but pretty good. Get the fuel wrong and you can burn it down. Get the timing wrong and you can blow head gaskets or put holes in pistons. Not the piston's fault, the tuner's.

Yea I know they have match. That is why I asked if a stroker kit was available. As for buying anything off craigslist I wont do it because of endless scams on there. I understand timing and fuel play a big part of it but I had a shop look at it today they recommended I dont use cast anything if at all possible

All the stroker kit is going to change is the rods and pistons...they used to have sets for both cranks, but there are still forged crank kits available over the counter...

Anything you do with a slant is going to be a treasure hunt and a bunch of math, followed by a lot of explaining to an ignorant machinist.

If you have to use a forged crank, it's going to be looking in junkyards or craigslist for a core.

If you were in my state, you could stop on by and we could pick one out of the pile for the project...LOL

You really can't stroke a 225....it's already stroked. I guess you could but man, it would be expensive and have a really long stroke.

If you started with a 170, you could stroke it by one inch, though, by using a 5 crank, rods, pistons, and block.

A lot of stroker kits do come with cranks but apparently not for the slant six that I am finding. U arent kidding it's going be a lot of hunt and time. Thanks and appreciate that. I wish it was that easy but I'm clear on the other side of us and slant six are obsolete around here.

I really only suggested the stroker kit bc already being a set. Just hate to have to piece together and mess up with wrong size. I do understand what u all are saying that cant be stroke since so long already

You can stroke a slant but you have to have your crank welded up and reground. If you're going to run boost anyway you don't need the extra stroke.

The long rod/piston combinations are not strokers, just long rods.

If you are set on forged pistons most any company will make you some. You can still get K-1 rods for forged cranks.

What they shoulda done was used the 440's rods and bore size and stroke, too.

6 cylinders, 3.75 stroke, 330 cubes. Of course, a big port head, too.

In 1959 they would have had to use either the 413 rods or the 383 RB rods (both rods aren't as stout as the 440 rods in construction though...)

If they did that then the engine is 4.8" longer if the space around the cylinders is maintained. Ever look at a Ford 240/300? That's a 4" bore engine and it's huge by passenger car standards. Still small compared to a Hall-Scott.

Then to maintain the overall length they coulda moved three of the cylinders over, adjacent to the other three, in a V configuration....!
