Mopar Performance Red is the color for the V8. (It's a blueish red).

Does anyone have the actual paint formula for the orangey-red paint used in the early slant sixes?

My local paint shop's books just show the Mopar Performance Red version. They can "color match," but this does not account for fade and other discoloration.

International Harvester Red is the closest color available in cans, but I need the original formula.

Your help much appreciated!

It's "orangey red" because of age- and heat-related fading; originally it was quite a bit redder than it now appears. International-Harvester Red, easily available in spray cans, is a very good match to the original: definitely red, but a warm red, sort of like tomato juice but brighter.

But if you want to try going from Chrysler's original paint code, try Ditzler 71962.
