Is it possible to r&r an engine oil pan with the motor still in the car? And how high would you have to get it?

You don't have to get the engine all that high, but enough that the radiator hoses should be removed. You do have to drop the steering linkage. I'd rather pull the engine in most cases. Getting the oil pan to seal while working overhead is miserable.
