Nice Going Greg. Good to see Ruster back in the winner's circle.
So, how many slants in total were there?

I was told 10 cars, but only 7 ran for points.

Congratulations Greg! :D :D

Seems odd uncle Tony did not have his race car there?

I don't have a car to run but wish I could've been there to meet some of the people who I talk to via the forums and have bought parts from..... I asked the wife if she wanted to go on a road trip a couple of days ago and never got an answer either way.

He was there, but didn’t race with us. Apparently he did a grudge race with someone. He ran a 10.30 I think.

Shane Pulido is an engineer for Edelbrock. He has a '69 4 door Dart that he daily drives. He match raced Uncle Tony, unfortunately he spun badly and handed UT an easy one.

Ryan and Jeff lined up heads-up for the Super 6 showdown. Jeff took the win.

I was actually impressed that UT showed up and ran his car. The strange thing was he was the last one there, but parked clear at the other end of the pits all by himself. Guess he didn't want us stealing his secrets on how to make s super light Dart run 10:30s in the 1/8.

He did do an interview with Greg. Greg gon be famous!

I believe Ryan reset the C/U record at 7:50.

I also believe Jeff reset his to 6:51.

I hung a big red eye in Rd. 1. I still had lots of fun seeing old friends and making new ones. If Dallas does this again next year he said he will work with us to not put it so close to one of our races.

Sounds like a super fun event. Really wish I could have been there. Congrats to Greg! Sounds like Ruster is back in order.

Thanks a bunch for coordinating this event, Dennis! Thanks to Dallas and Jeffers for hosting. I would love to see some new cars and people, esp in the Midwest.

Congrats to Ryan on his fast times. Wish we could have met in person again, my friend. Man, I'll have some work to do to get that C/U record back! I forgot that one was so soft. Dart has run 8.10. Still a long way from 7.50...

Hope to see some of you at Clay City next weekend!

Lou

Yeah, it wasn't even close. I only made one time run and really missed the tree bad. Instead of forgetting about it and just doing my thing I tried hitting the tree real hard. It turned out just as you'd expect.

We had a great time yesterday seeing a bunch of dedicated slant 6 racers. Hats off to the guys that traveled many miles to the race.
Sold a bunch of parts yesterday.
Sold some stuff to some young guys that drove a slant from Indy and they are fired up on slants. Thanks goes to UTG for spreading the word about a fantastic engine.
Weather was great.
Only complaint I heard was the track was too sticky!

Mark

1500 Miles for me it was a blast - Super Nice Track - A/C In the restrooms - Paved pit areas All good stuff.

I was glad to go, and See My midwest Pals that I don't see much except on here.

Jeff Kendall's car is super nice - its was work the drive just to see that machine.

Thanks to Dallas/AHRA, Slantzilla, and all the folks that actually arrived at the event. Weather was sketchy in the forecast.. but by 11 or so It was beautiful out.

Greg

I had a great time and hope to do it again as well! Racing with the gassers and altereds was a hoot on Fri and Sat. Was wondering why UT didn't wrench on his Dart if it was running so bad... Thats half the fun of racing is tuning and tuning again at the track! 2400 miles for me round trip but worth it for the weekend. It was great to see everyone!! It's quality over quantity? Right?

He must have forgotten his laptop.

I have no clue what is in his engine, but it seemed to me like it ran pretty good for as stock as it sounded. Deke (the Tech guy) verified that UT had the car on Dallas' scales and it does weigh 2100# w/o driver.
