Woo Hoo!!! :D :D Love to hear that sound of first start up and then see oil pressure.

Pretty sure Stan is trying to fool us here with how easy it started! :D He probably worked on it for 10 hrs this morning before he got it running! :D :D There is also a pretty strong probability that he is just that much better than me too!

Congrats Stan!

PS. Holley's tech line was just about as helpful to me as a 40 year old broken toaster. Sounds like we talked to the same people. :D

Thanks guys.
Truth be known it wasn't the first fire, maybe 3rd.
But it did just start up, a few surges and uneven, but no "Oh my God! What just happened???" moments.
Never had one do that.
And I started it with a tractor battery.

Years ago working for the government we built a T55 engine test cell.
The T55 is a Chinook engine, 1 of 2 the CH-47 uses.
About 4700 SHP. A BEAST!
We worked for over a year and our Colonel would stop in and check progress.
He always said, I want to be here the first time you start this beast.
Yes, Sir, we will make sure you are here!

He came down on Wednesday to see the "First" start.
We ran it on Tuesday.

Had some issues and I am still working them out.
I have a dead cylinder, thought I had and idea, but after removing the head, I was wrong about that.
I will keep working to find the problem.
At least with this Colt it's not to hard to work on it.

1st world problems, I am blessed.
