Picked up a 64 Valiant. Very clean car. Slant Six loaded up with Clifford stuff. Car broke down on the way home. Had to have it towed. After being driven the car will not start like the coil is unplugged. Then it finally starts and runs fine again. Have to figure this out in the coming weeks.

Check the Bulkhead connections through the firewall.

I had an interment start / run issue on my '64 that was just corroded connections on the firewall bulkhead.

Hard to find and diagnose but that's what it was.. Sometimes I would get power to the coil, then other times not.

I had that problem awhile ago. Replaced the points and condenser and all was well. Sneaking hunch that it was the condenser.

I had a points distributor develop a sloppy points plate pivot, that would intermittently allow the points to close and stay closed. A little frustrating until I noticed it the second time I had the cap off.

Just a long shot.....Roger
