Tying to adjust the timing on my 170 slant six; pretty straight forward, but.. the distributor hold down bolt (slot) only allows for limited movement., I need to turn my distributor a little more clockwise., but I can't. Anyone else have this problem??

The distributor plates like yours actually have two slots. One you can readily see and the other is reached from the underside of the distributor.

You need to get the special wrench or take the dist. out to access the 2nd adjustment screw.

I have also set the dist. in one tooth off to give me more adjustment on the top side slot sometimes too!
