I have never had problems with a valve cover leaking that did not have the gasket installed correctly.

That Product from slanted YouTube Channel seems to be better as a spacer than a load spreader.

Maybe I have been fortunate to have encounter good valve covers over the years that were not totally distorted.

How hard would a valve cover spacer be to make?
Strikes me this (also see here) could readily be sandwiched between two gaskets to make what you have in mind, no?
Yes, it's along the same lines. Sometimes the spacer is 3/8 of an inch.
These look to be 1/4.
Good idea.
