I can see how he could have missed it for 25 years. :D :D

I am curious, who is running that Facebook page?
Who is the or who are the Admins?

I'm on 2 or 3 Slant pages, but the Slant 6 Club page is Ben Deutchsman. (sp)

It says "Group by Torqstorm Superchargers" on the home page. Is that Gill Welding?

Yes, suggesting and typing is one thing, actually acting on those words is quite another.

Most of the racers and Former Champions did all of this without Facebook, because they were working on the car and towing to races.

The current running FB poll can be found in the Slant Six Club on Facebook:

https://www.facebook.com/share/GiD2nt3S ... tid=K8Wfd2

There are two main groups, the Slant Six Club, and the Slant Six Performance group by TorqStorm.

We at Gill Welding and Fabrication aren't running either of those groups, nor are we moderators or Admins. As of this time, we feel that customers would see it as a conflict of interest if we were in those positions. We have thought about a making a "modified Slant Six" Facebook group for more "extreme" setups. Other than the Slant Six Club the rest of the groups tend to have poor moderation.

We have our official Facebook business page here:
https://www.facebook.com/gillwelding?mibextid=9R9pXO

I find it's quite common for Facebook users (including the older 70+ users) to have no familiarity with this site. You'd think a little googling would come up with it.

I see that now, I didn't see it yesterday, the Torgstorm info.

Thanks

I have now posted a poll about race locations and dates. I hope you all will fill it out!

The Facebook poll closed (it ran for two days) the following is the results:

Vote Total 64

Votes for Knoxville: 30 (46%)

Votes for Clay City: 18 (28%)

Votes for Wilkesboro: 13 (20%)

Votes for Motor Mile: 3 (4%)

Take these results with a grain of salt, we have no way of verifying if they voters will follow through.

Hi Bryce,

Thanks for the numbers! Do you have a sense of how many (or what fraction) of the people responding might be real racers, or have ever been to a dragstrip before? Perhaps one thing we could take from this is that essentially nobody on FB is interested in Motormile, so we could likely rule that one out.

Thanks again,
Lou

Lou,

For Knoxville I count about 5 (not including Dad or myself) that I am quite certain would show up and have raced before.

For the rest I am not familiar with most of the voters personally, but I know of at least 1 person at each location that would show up.

Dad and I will show up, he will race, and I will probably bring someone to race Lab Rat. If its not at Knoxville I will need to find someone else to race it. I intend to film again this year.

Thanks for taking the pole Bryce. I wish I knew how many of those 30 would show up also. The other thing I would like to know is if the 5 or 6 that you know for sure at Knoxville would come to Wilkesboro or Clay City If that was the chosen race.

Me personally, I will have to see next to perfect weather forecasts for me to try Knoxville again. It is just too far to drive to sit in the rain again.

I personally voted for Clay City and Wilkseboro only because I thought maybe they would have a better chance of drawing more people in from Knoxville and the mid west if the race was not in Knoxville.

Lou I loved Motor Mile and it is the closest to us. If the racing elsewhere does not pan out we will come down and meet you there for a race of our own. :D

Bryce was that poll- 32 people voting for their two favorite tracks? Thanks.

I enjoyed the Motor Mile race as well. It was HOT in July, but a well run race and nice facility.

Chez Madsen was a nice bonus as well.

I voted for Clay City because in the past it has had the biggest turnouts and used to be a favorite for racers. I don’t know if they’ve improved their race management from our last event there or not.
