Dan,
Thanks for the clarification, I was hoping to save a buck or two, but if I have to find the sensor and buy the thermostat I'll probably be up to $50 or beyond.
I nested the following in a comment above so you may not have noticed. I'll paste it here. I want to thank you again for all your help!
Dan, Thanks for the suggestion I bought one of those chokes when my 225 had the stock 1 barrel and holly 1920, I lost patience trying to dial it in and went back to the old coil spring type.
Anyway is there a way to adapt the electric choke for the 1 barrel by changing out the rod or is the setup completely different? I still have that one on my workbench it is kit number 1231.

how is it wired, just 12 volt to that wire?
No, if you're using the factory-type setup you also need the choke controller, a widget that gets bolted to the cylinder head. Ignition-on +12v to the controller, then the choke wire connects to the controller.
But the electric choke kit I linked comes complete and works better. It's not hard to adjust properly; takes—at most—two or three dead-cold starts-and-adjustments to get it just right. Can't find it…? It's right
