Do you run with the fan and water pump off?

I have been leaving them off and will flip on the pump on the drive back.
Doesn’t matter. The needle barely comes off the peg at 140*.
We verified the sending unit works with a heat gun and I’m confident I’ve purged all the air out of the system… :?

Are you guy running thermostats? And they never get warmed up? Just wondering? Does the alcohol cool the head so much that it will never warm up too temp even with no water pump running.

I don’t run a thermostat. Just a restrictor.

Alcohol makes it hard to build much heat in the engine.

Would a thermostat be better? Probably not if there is no water pump on.

It's been my experience that you run a restrictor when the engine runs too hot, that way it gets a head start cooling through the radiator. I think it would definitely run warmer with a thermostat.
jus sayin....

Thermostat would require the bypass hose for when it is shut. The bypass on mine has a pipe plug in it.

Woo Hoo! It’s almost official!

I got the record application and time slips from Rob Simmons yesterday. He set the A/A records for both the ET and MPH on the 1/8 and and the ET record for the 1/4 mile at Clay City. 1/4 mile ET was 11.399 and the 1/8 mile was 7.111 and 95.572MPH. Rob has worked long and hard to nail down these records. The Howard Davis tune up really put some life in Norm's old car. The 97.50 1/8 mile speed that Rob turned under better conditions indicates that there is a a lot more potential there. Congratulations Rob!
