Take a lookit this. It's a new old stock Slant-6 distributor made by Ducellier, a French counterpart to the likes of Prestolite or Bosch (makers of diverse automotive electrics). Prestolite made \6 distributors, most commonly factory-installed in Canada and Mexico, though a small number were put on US builds. Bosch made \6 distributors in Australia, to comply with that country's local-content laws. This Ducellier distributor would've been original equipment on the Dodge Darts and 3700s built in Spain by Barreiros.

Smaller-diameter body and cap than the Chrysler or Prestolite distributor, so much so that the condenser lives outdoors. Don't like smaller diameter, because it means less distance between the right and wrong paths for electricity to take. On the other hand, the right/wrong spacing here still looks larger than on a regular U.S. V8 distributor, and those do fine. Not sure I like those exposed connections for the condenser, either, though they're not really different to the exposed connection at coil (-), and those do fine, too.

Much deeper/taller body; wonder what the heck is taking up all that space inside, if anything. Nice clamp-type hold-down arrangement, looks readily adjustable beyond the range of the hold-down bolt slot. Tsk, missing its O-rings.

Here's the auction pic (I've learnt from bitter experience not to just link eBay auctions, which will vanish):

Cool! Thanks for sharing. Would be interesting to see what the advance mechanisms look like...

Gives a little more room between the oil filter and distributor clamps too.

What, it's not the seldom-seen version with two roll pins so the gear couldn't rock back and forth on the shaft it was already pressed tightly onto? :P

Seriously, that is an interesting one that I had no idea was out there. I wonder if it helps with steering clearance on RHD applications?

Doubt it—the distributor is not in the way on RHD applications (and this dizzy wouldn't've been factory-installed on RHD cars).

It reminds me of a Mallory dual point I got a while back.
Small cap but different casting.
