I'm confused about what larger valves to buy....SI, Chevy or Ford, as there are posts indicating they have all been used.

It looks like Mopar 340 valve springs are also recommended. SI shows a slant spring as the same as a 270 V-8. More confusion!!

Please point me in the right direction. Thanks again.

I don't think there is a difference unless you are all out racing. SI ships quickly. I think you should get springs to match your cam, not valves.
That said, I've heard guys say they use the 340 springs. I got springs from Comp in my cam "kit".
I am only a year in so, this is all stuff I've heard, not experienced. :?

the ford 300 valves are what I am using I had to get larger guides and ofcourse a valve job. However I have replica mopar performance drop in valves 170/144 they were made bu turning larger valves down to the mp specs but use regular locks. I was going to use them but found the 3oo valves for cheap.

you're welcome :D

It's kinda hard to go thru topics quoting this or this other craftman/maker/company w/o knowing where it is, if it has a web site or e-mail or just phone or what!

That link to si valves should be
http://www.sivalves.com

There is a section of this site for info on slant friendly vendors
http://www.slantsix.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=11

I don't think it's very complete or gets updated as much as it could. We should try to post good or bad feedback about vendors (without starting more than one for each). This way people can see what experience other forum members have with these companies over time. (Like Ebay  ) Specific purchases always carry the most weight. "I purchased part # and it worked good and arrived quickly", etc...

Sending your service rep a link to a well used feedback section can really encourage a company to offer their best to our community in the future. Word of mouth is always the best advertising.
